New Delhi: After dating for several years, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on February 19 at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Kandala farmhouse. Now, months later, speaking to Elle India, Shibani revealed how and where Farhan proposed to her. She said that the actor popped the question during their tropical vacation in the Maldives. The actress added that the proposal was unexpected, and they hadn’t even discussed the idea of getting married.
“It was a very unexpected proposal. I had no idea it was going to happen. We had not even discussed it. But this is again Farhan, when he decides something, he does it. I was never the kind who wanted to get married and have all that jazz. But when Farhan asked, it just felt right in the moment and after the initial shock, I said yes!,” Elle India quoted Shibani Dandekar saying.
Shibani Dandekar also talked about her tattoo with Farhan’s initial letter F on her ring finger. She said that it was right after their engagement. They hadn’t announced it to everyone, and it was only when her tattoo happened that everyone got to know about their engagement.
“It was right after we got engaged. We had not announced it to everyone and it was only when this tattoo happened that everyone got to know,” Shibani Dandekar told Elle India.
Ever since their marriage, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar always manage to impress their fans by sharing their lovey-dovey pictures on Instagram. Lately, Farhan shared an adorable picture from their wedding and captioned it as, “Tum hastee raho bas yuhin main yuhin bas dekhta rahoon”.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Farhan Akhtar is all set to return to the directorial seat with Jee Le Zaraa. The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt and will hit the theatres next year.
