Mr. and Mrs. Mark Christopher Atchley of Indianola announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Caitlyn Atchley, to William David Krysiek.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Atchley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ezelle Lenoard Sims, all of Rolling Fork. Melissa is a 2009 honor graduate of Indianola Academy and a 2013 magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and was an active member of Kappa Delta sorority, the MSU Student Association, the MSU Shackouls Honors College, and the Catholic Student Association. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Mississippi and is currently pursuing a master’s in reading education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Melissa is a middle school religion teacher in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas Krysiek of Atlanta. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marion Krysiek and the late Mr. Ronald Krysiek of Milwaulkee, Wisconsin and Mrs. Betty Chess and the late Mr. Francis Chess of Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Will is a 2008 graduate of St. Pius X in Atlanta, a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in music, and a graduate of Radford University with a Master of Arts in music. Will received numerous awards for his studies and performances in classical guitar. Will is an arts integration teacher in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The couple will be married Saturday, June 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola, with a reception to follow at the B.B. King Museum.
