Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon are looking ahead to a lovely future together as they plan their wedding.
But former EastEnders star Joe – who popped the question on Christmas Eve – has shared an awkward blunder that happened moments before he presented Stacey with an engagement ring and how the faux pas could have derailed his romantic plans.
The cheeky chap, 39, opened up on the lead up to the proposal during an episode of Celebrity Juice – which will air on ITV2 tonight – and told how he was concerned that his thoughtful gesture of creating a floral display in the woods, where he decided to propose, almost went downhill.
In a preview clip seen by the Mirror, Joe explains how Stacey, 31, spotted the lavish floral engagement he had arranged as they walked in the woods but when she saw the bouquet in the public space that she thought they had been left out for a morbid reason.
Recalling the nerve-wracking build up to asking Stacey to be Mrs Swash, he says: “To be fair the proposal was a bit awkward as well.
“I thought it would be really nice so I thought I’d do it on Christmas Eve and I took her in to the forest. And I got a lady to put a load of flowers out.”

Explaining how Stacey thought the flowers were to mark someone dying, Joe adds: “And when I took her through the forest, she saw the flowers and she went ‘aww I think someone’s died over there.’ Coz it was all white flowers and I went to her ‘Oh come let’s have a look, pay some respects.'”
Last month, Stacey announced that she will marry Joe in the garden of thier new home.

Proving that Stacey has been mulling over ideas about the big day, she added: “We are thinking walking down the woodland walk for out vowels and then a reaction in this old barn I honestly can not wait to hear your advise, you wedding Storie and share this whole adventure with you all [sic].”
